Scholarships are very often the only way that some students will be able to afford to pay for their college educations. In the state of Wisconsin, there are certainly students who need scholarships. Student loans only pay for a limited amount of the cost, and freshmen receive less than upperclassmen. This means that to get to the point that students are eligible for more in federal student loans, which they must manage to pay for the first two years first. This can create quite a conundrum without scholarships. Very often, students will find that different states will offer scholarships that are not offered to students or residents in any other state. In the state of Wisconsin this is true like it is for anywhere else.

The Talent Incentive Program Grant is available to assist students in achieving their educational goals. The grant can be used at any Wisconsin colleges and universities. The grant is offered to students with extreme financial need. The financial aid office at the students’ schools will nominate them for the award. Students must continue to demonstrate need and attend school in consecutive semesters. The grant is not available for more than ten semesters. This grant is funded both by the state and the federal governments. The initial award amount is between $600 and $1800. Eligible students must be Wisconsin residents.

The Wisconsin Higher Education Grant is available to students in Wisconsin who qualify. The grant can be used at Wisconsin colleges and universities or trade schools. Eligible students must be Wisconsin residents. Students will have to fill out FASFA forms in order to receive the grants. The grant is only available for ten semesters, and students must be enrolled in at least six hours of classes per semester. The minimum award amount is $250 and the maximum is $3000.
