This scholarship is available to students who are members of a American Indian Tribe whose reservation is in part or in whole located in the state of South Dakota. Students can receive the scholarship for four years, and the total award amount is $6000. The student must be within five years of graduating from high school or within one year of release from the military to be eligible.

The South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship is available for students in the state of South Dakota. Students who receive this scholarship will be awarded a total of $5000 to be received over a period of four years. In order to qualify, students must be outstanding academic achievers. They must have completed a rigorous course of study in high school. They must be residents of South Dakota and attending college in South Dakota. ACT scores must be 24 or higher, and SAT scores must be 1070 or higher.
