Indiana Scholarships

The state of Indiana provides numerous funding opportunities for potential students wishing to further their educations at Indiana’s colleges and universities. While assistance is not required for all students, those who qualify financially for Indiana scholarships will find themselves with a multitude of choices when investigating potential funding help in order to complete their studies. With the burden of cost eased even a fraction, the student can more readily apply their energies to the task at hand, which is to study and learn.

The State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana is one of the country's highest rated state financial aid agencies. For over forty years it has made college more affordable with need based grants while allowing for choice by granting scholarships to high school students attending both public and independent schools. Their Indiana scholarships are eligible to both full time and part time students and the commission promotes it funding opportunities with guidance counselor workshops, community forums, and college fairs.

Among the other Indiana scholarships that are available to students entering colleges and universities across the state is the Charles W. Cole Scholarship that awards a maximum of seventeen hundred and fifty dollars per semester for fees, tuition, books, and parking costs. There are also additional funds available for those with child care expenses. Those students considered for this scholarship are students who rank below the top ten percent in their high school graduating class as well as anyone pursuing a bachelor’s degree on a full or part time basis. The main purpose of this scholarship is to provide those with financial need the opportunity to offset the ever growing costs of a university education. Recipients may reapply each year provided they maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher and are in attendance for at least two of the four academic terms per year.

The above Indiana scholarships are just two of thousands that are available to eligible recipients each year at universities and colleges across the state. If you feel you are eligible for this or any other form of student aid you should begin the application process as soon as you can for the best possible results.
