The Governor's Opportunity Scholarship is a scholarship that is reserved for the most financially needy students. Freshmen whose parents gross income comes to less than $26,000 annually can apply if they are United States citizens or permanent legal residents. This scholarship can be applied to university or college degrees that take either two or four year or to occupations or vocational diplomas and they must be full time students. To give students and extra advantage, a work-study program is part of the scholarship. Applicants must include transcripts, financial need analysis, and test scores with their application form. Recipients of this award may receive amounts as high as $5,665 to assist in paying for tuition, books, and other educational expenses. Students interested in applying for this scholarship can pick up application forms through the Financial Aid office on their campus.
