Students who are the first in their family to attend college can apply for the Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship Program. This Alabama scholarship accepts 12 students per year. The scholarships are awarded to students who do not have a sibling or a parent that has obtained a college degree. They must have a 3.0 cumulative high school grade average and must demonstrate financial need. Those who are awarded the scholarship will receive $5,000 per year over four years as long as their grade point average is maintained. They will also be eligible to receive student support services and other service that are helpful in adjusting to college life.
