International Scholarships

The opportunity to study internationally is a something that every student should consider. Going to college or university gives any student and advantage in their chosen field but a student that has studied on an international level is even more appealing to employers. It shows employers that they are independent, broad thinkers, and experienced in world affairs and that makes them very appealing for a company that has offices around the world. For growing companies, it means that applicants who have international experience could be an invaluable asset in the growth of the company as they expand to other countries. While studying in other countries may be expensive, international scholarships can help students who otherwise wouldn't have the means to do so to make this option a reality. They can choose to study in a wide selection of countries, meet new people, learn about different customs and cultures, and develop a strong sense of independence.

One of the programs that has the widest scope of possibilities for international scholarships is the Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarships. These scholarships are provided through local Rotary chapters so interested student should enquire there to find out what international scholarship opportunities are available to them. Students can choose from an academic year scholarship (Academic Year Ambassadorial Scholarships). These scholarships provide up to $23,000 to aid in covering the costs of travel, tuition, room and board, and supplies for education. If students are interested in studying internationally over a longer period of time they may be more interested in the Multi-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships, which provide a grant of $11,500 per year for up to two years of international study. Finally, for students interested in a more intensive study program, the Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship allows students to study for 3 or 6 month terms. These students can receive up to $15,000 for covering costs related to travel and education.

There are many other international scholarships available to students who wish to learn about new cultures. Some, like this one, have only general requirements. However, other international scholarships apply to specific countries, specific educational programs, or specific types of students (like minorities). With the many scholarship opportunities that exist, every student can find scholarships to study abroad that are well suited to them.
