The Master of Science in Education in K-12 studies is designed for those teachers already working as professionals in the education field to improve their skills and move into head teacher, administrative, school district or consultant positions in an area of specialization or general education. The K-12 studies program will allow teachers to learn more advanced methodologies and research practices that will improve student learning and assist the teacher in becoming more effective in communication and subject teaching and information.
A large part of the K-12 studies will be to gain further understanding of the learning process for students. Teachers will also learn about curriculum adaptations for special learners and for gifted and talented students. In addition teachers will use the latest in technology in teaching. Graduates will complete a practicum in K-12 education as well as learning about the Capstone program.
