More than just a basic accounting program the Master of Business Administration with a focus on professional accounting allows students to gain the practical and theoretical knowledge of accounting principles and apply them to management decisions. Most managers will be required to maintain budgets and financial records, so additional experience in accounting on a business level is always considered an asset. Professional accounting graduates may work as managers of accounting departments, as bookkeepers, as general managers, or as specific department managers. The may also work as financial advisors or auditors within a company or agency.
Graduates of the Master of Business Administration in professional accounting will complete classes such as advanced accounting principles and practices, internal and external reporting, taxation, auditing procedures and protocols, ethics in accounting and management as well as other management classes. Technology and the use of software in accounting will be developed through the courses.
