Students that are looking for a degree program that will allow them to move into more advanced positions in law enforcement, corrections, court systems and investigations. The Bachelor of Science in criminal justice will provide theoretical understanding of the basic foundations of criminal justice, as well as the practical application for use in the field. Students in the class will learn about criminal court proceedings and the legal system, behavior of criminals, and the various types of criminal investigations, crime scene management and criminal behavior.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in criminal justice degree will have the opportunity to work on real life case studies and scenarios, as well as understand the history of the criminal justice system. Students will take courses on topics such as forensics in criminal investigations, legal and ethical procedures in criminal justice investigations, court systems and prosecution, technology in criminal justice and criminal investigations. Students may choose to specialize in areas of interest or they many continue with a more general program of study.
