The goal of the Bachelor of Science in accounting program is to prepare graduates to work as accountants, auditors, financial planners or bookkeepers in a variety of different agencies, companies and organizations. The program will build on the basic principles and practices in accounting to include more advanced concepts such as advanced taxation, international businesses and accounting, computerized accounting systems and auditing. Students will use the most current technology throughout the course of study to prepare them for work in the field.
Classes that students will complete in the Bachelor of Science in accounting focus on accounting principles and practices, ethical and legal issues in accounting, reporting, planning, taxation, auditing and working collaboratively as a management individual with the business. Effective communication skills as well as leadership strategies and techniques will be developed throughout the program.
