For those who already have an RN license, earning a BSN in nursing will allow them to pursue other areas within the nursing field including teaching, administration, and floor supervision. Students who enroll in this degree program will learn techniques for teaching other nurses and evaluating their performance. Students will also learn how to motivate others, create schedules and budgets, and understand more about patient rights and ethics. Treating patients using the latest in physical therapy, nutritional therapy, and psychological therapy will also be discussed in this degree program.
Courses students will need to study in order to earn their degree include advanced nursing care, teaching methods, reflective nursing, medical billing and coding, and nursing administration. Students will also have to develop problem solving and critical thinking skills in order to make quick decisions about patient care and managing a floor or ward within a hospital.
