Teaching students how the criminal justice system works is just one of the many goals of this degree program. Giving students the skills needed to work within the system so they will be able to perform various duties expected of them is another. Students will learn how to gather evidence, launch a criminal investigation, and understand the minds of criminals in order to help catch those who have committed crimes. There are many positions students will be able to work in after completing this degree program.
Courses students will have to complete in order to earn their degree include criminology, crime scene investigation, project management, and computer applications. Courses in homeland security, information security, and cyber crime are also offered so students will be able to make career choices based on the skills students have learned. Critical thinking skills will be taught throughout this degree program.
