Learning more about the current computer software that is used in many accounting offices and departments will help students be able to perform various components of their jobs easily. Students will also learn principles of accounting, budgeting, finance, and maintaining accurate accounting records using various software. Being prepared to work in an accounting department as a manager, bookkeeper, or member of a project group is the goal of this program.
Other skills students will learn include problem solving, critical thinking, and advanced mathematics. These skills will help students understand what is expected of them as they enter the workforce. There are many entry level positions that could lead to management roles or more later on. Students who want to work for medium to large companies or for smaller companies as bookkeepers should consider this degree program as they will learn many skills that can be used throughout their career.
