San Joaquin College works to help individuals build a brighter future on the foundation of a professional education. The school aims to do this through creating curriculum and instruction that is career-focused, flexible enough to meet the diverse needs of students, and innovative in a way that allows students to learn at their own pace and convenience.
The College was founded in 1977 by Robert and Shirley Perry, and today has 9 campuses located throughout California as well as an online division. Students can choose to attend classes at the Visalia, Fresno, Bakersfield, Modesto, Rancho Cordova, Rancho Cucamonga or Hanford locations, take aviation lessons at the Fresno Airport or just learn from the comfort of their own homes.
Students will get the chance to learn material that will easily transfer into real job experience, ideally allowing students to leave the college ready to go straight into today’s competitive job market. Students will be able to work towards degrees in specialized fields or gain useful professional certifications that will allow them to gain a competitive edge once they enter they enter employment.
The school has an extensive online program that allows students who may already be working or those busy with familial and personal commitments to more easily fit their continued education into their lifestyle. Courses are set up into 5-week sessions and allow students to work at their own pace to gain Associate's degrees or certifications by working on their own and taking classes live online. Online programs include Construction Management, Medical Office Administration, Criminal Justice, and Respiratory Therapy.
