The Chicago School of Professional Psychology strives to be the school of choice for students pursuing a career in the behavioral sciences. It aims to achieve this goal by integrating theory, professional practice, commitment to diversity and innovation into its educational environment and learning experience. The school wants to imbue students with its core values of professionalism, scholarship, acceptance of diversity, and commitment to service.
The Chicago School was established by professional psychologists who wanted to create a place for students to get high-quality professional psychology training in a non-profit setting. The school was established in 1979 by the non-profit Midwestern Psychology Development Foundation. The school’s main campus is located in the heart of downtown Chicago near the famous Merchandise Mart and steps away from the Chicago River.

It awards degrees at the Master's and Doctorate levels in a variety of psychology-related specialties. The school has been recognized by the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology for its contributions in issues related to diversity and its work related to advocacy in the field of psychology.
