What is Distance Learning

Distance learning also known as correspondence or home study is any learning (enrollment and study) whereby the instructor and student are geographically remote from each other. A distance learning educational institution provides lesson materials to the student prepared for study on their own and at any place the student so desires. The Distance Learning methods used include video devices, CD-ROMs, regular mail, interactive or cable TV, satellite broadcasting, online courses, and other technology.

Over the years, distance learning has developed into a preferred alternative form of education for millions of people seeking education, training, or skill enhancement without leaving home, interfering with busy work schedules, or jeopardizing other interests. Most distance learning programs allow you to study at your own pace, when and where you prefer. You should choose the program that fits your needs, lifestyle, and career goals.

"What is success? To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know that even one life has been breathed easier because you have lived; This is to have succeeded."

- Ralph Waldo Emerson
