Distance Learning & Online Business Professional Studies Degree Programs
A program of courses within the area of business professional studies will allow students to customize a program that will give them all the foundation, theory and knowledge necessary to pursue a career in any aspect of business management or administration. Students graduating from the program may find work as entry level managers, retail managers, store managers, assistant managers or project coordinators, marketing and advertising professionals or even as entrepreneurs owning and administrating their own businesses. There are several different levels of training within the business professional studies area and advanced levels allow students to specialize and focus on areas of interest. Lower levels of the program provide a broad understanding of all aspects of business administration and management from both a theoretical and practical aspect.
Students in the classes will be able to choose from a wide range of courses to fulfill the requirements of the program. Topics in various programs include communications, financial planning and management, strategic planning, advertising and marketing, human resource development and management, accounting, e-business and e-commerce, global and international business management and organizational leadership and management. Courses in specific types of business professional studies such as supply chain management or contracts and acquisitions will also be addressed in special courses.
The emphasis in classes will be on developing strong analytical, evaluative and problem solving skills to allow graduates to successfully handle issues within the workplace in a professional and efficient manner. Effective communication, understanding of conflict resolution techniques, negotiation and even written communication skills will be enhanced through the program. Students will also have access to using the most advanced computer software programs, operating systems, databases and other technology throughout the program. Some students may also choose to focus on technology such as network security or information technology as their emphasis area.
