Distance Learning & Online Organizational Leadership Degree Programs
Graduates of an organizational leadership program will have the skills and knowledge necessary to assume a leadership role in any type of business or company. While broad in its scope, the organizational leadership program is designed to assist students to understand the complex issues that surround the hierarchy and management within an organization and how the most effective decision making and management can be implemented. Students will focus on the various organizational models, the most effective problem solving and decision making methods as well as the skills needed to become an effective and highly skilled manager and leader.
Courses will include both basic and advanced level management courses in areas such as finance, structural organization, business management, financial management and human resource management and development. In addition students can specialize in any one of those areas and will also complete classes on effective leadership strategies, communication, team building, conflict resolution, and human behavior. Models of various business structures as well as the history of leadership within business are provided to help students gain a theoretical understanding of the field. Many students of organizational leadership programs also complete courses in political science, organizational structure, accounting, marketing and sales, economics or international business or global economies and markets.
Since a large percentage of the jobs as organizational leaders will include the ability to evaluate, analyze and plan these key elements will be stressed throughout the program. In conjunction the ability to research, gather the right data, verify sources and then make the correct decision weighing all the factors will be emphasized. The distinct skill of leadership including the ability to create teams will be developed through assignments and projects, as will the ability to communicate effectively with management and staff.
