Distance Learning & Online Nonprofit Management Degree Programs
Graduates of a degree program in nonprofit management will be well equipped to handle to diverse and unique issues in overseeing and supervision of a charity organization. Nonprofit agencies and organizations have strict guidelines and regulations to follow regarding governance, board of director involvement, hiring policies and ethical and legal issues. A graduate of a degree program in nonprofit management will have a clear understanding of these issues and will be prepared to implement them within the agency or organization that they work for.
Graduates of the program may find work as project managers or coordinators, operational managers, financial managers or human resource managers within nonprofit agencies. In addition many graduates may choose to work within the agency in an entry level position and gain work experience and practical knowledge to supplement the theoretical knowledge and concepts taught within the course of study. Graduates may also choose roles in monitoring, auditing and coordinating nonprofit agencies or government programs that are implemented by community based organizations and nonprofit agencies.
Courses within the nonprofit degree all focus on the issue of running a charity or nonprofit with classes in business management, finance, grant writing, research and data collection, monitoring, auditing as well as communication, interpersonal skills, human resource management and community involvement and volunteer management. Project communication, strategic planning, coordination of community services and multidisciplinary team development within community based agencies is also developed and enhanced within the program. Graduates will have experience in working with the latest technology in all aspects of nonprofit management including human resource management and finance and accounting. Various models of nonprofit agencies and different types of management structures for various types of organizations will be a key component of the program.
