Distance Learning & Online Information Systems Security Degree Programs
Going beyond an associate or bachelor level degree in information systems, a bachelor or master level degree in information system security allows graduates to hone their skills in prevention of leaks or breaches in information systems and the analysis and investigation of suspected problems within an information system. The graduates of the program will find consulting jobs of mid to upper level management jobs in information security departments, in private businesses, as consultants, or in institutions or government offices that transfer, store or retrieve potentially sensitive or private information. Hospitals, health care facilities, banks or financial institutes, law enforcement or other agencies typically hire their own professionals to work on prevention and maintenance of current and development of new information system security protocols and precautions.
Information system security degrees at the master or bachelor level will include topics and subjects such as advanced security protocols, investigative techniques for network security, e-commerce and e-business laws and regulations, software testing, internet security protocols, business analysis, online security sites, working within a business environment and effective and essential communication between various law enforcement agencies and investigators with regards to information systems security. Graduates will also learn how to test the system and how to modify security measures when required. Database development, administration and security will be a key focus on classes, especially as it relates to potential security issues with identity theft and credit card information.

This exposure to and use of the cutting edge technology will provide students with the practical skills to work immediately within the workplace.
