Distance Learning & Online Graphics & Multimedia Degree Programs
Graduates of a degree in graphics and multimedia will be prepared to enter the creative and very interesting world of software development, game design, movie or video production or advertising and marketing. Graphics and media program graduates will have the knowledge and skills to develop unique and creative web applications, web sites and other media presentations to capture and idea, sell an item, or enhance a product or concept.
Classes within the graphics and media programs include graphic design, animation both two and three-dimensional, web applications, web design, electronic imaging, scriptwriting, layouts and background design, sound management and technology, video production, software programming, multiplayer games and online game development, graphic enhancement and multimedia production and design. Students in the program will learn these skills with the applications that are used in the graphics and multimedia professional world, as well as learn team skills, how to work with other professionals in development, and how to assume leadership roles within the development team. Effective communication and collaborative work will the stressed throughout the program. Copyright, legal and ethical issues in graphics and multimedia issues will also be addressed in advanced level classes.
Degrees within the graphics and media field range from an associates degree in graphic design and multimedia through to a master level program in graphic design. In addition there are graduate certificate programs in graphic design and multimedia that are an idea option for professionals in the field that just wish to upgrade or keep their skills and knowledge up to date and current in this rapidly developing area. Game designers and interactive web designers typically are graduates from a graphics and multimedia program.
