For students looking for a practical and theoretical management program a degree in applied management is just the program of study. More specific that a general business management program the degree in applied management gives students the hands-on tools needed to assume leadership roles in a variety of types of companies and agencies without requiring additional training and work experience. The courses will provide both a very specialized view of management as well as a strong understanding of the overall daily operation and long and short-term goal setting needed to be an effective manager. Graduates of the program can find employment as entry to mid level managers, project coordinators, supervisors and department heads in public and private sector businesses. With higher levels of education the possibility for upper level management positions is greatly increased.
Classes in an applied management program will include specific management classes such as human resources management, compensation and benefits, strategic management, effective leadership strategies, communication and interpersonal skills. In addition classes can also include problem solving, analysis and evaluation and conflict resolution.
