Distance Learning & Online Advertising Degree Programs
Graduates of a course of study in advertising will be well prepared to enter this fast paced and dynamic career. Graduates of advertising programs may find work as advertising managers, sales representatives, creative writers, web designers, or marketing specialists. Many advertising professionals work on a contract basis while others may be employed full-time by one agency or company. Advertising graduates may also work directly with specific types of media such as internet web designers, television commercials and advertisement, radio or written or printed advertising media. Students will study all types of advertising but will also be given the opportunity to focus on more specific issues as they progress through their education.
Students in the advertising program will complete courses in communication, design, product development, human behavior, psychology, marketing strategies and trends, international business, creative concepts and multimedia presentation and techniques in advertising. The importance of new technology including web-based sales and e-commerce will be addressed throughout the program. The basis of the program will also include working in team environments, project management and coordination as well as effective communication, problem solving and leadership skills and techniques. Emphasis will be placed on computer software programs and use of the internet in the current business market.
One of the biggest focuses in the program is to help students understand the various aspects of human behavior that make effective marketing strategies. Issues on market research, trends in international and national marketing will be discussed and reviewed throughout the program. Business classes such as management, finance, project coordination and leadership are all complimentary courses to a program in advertising. Most students will complete additional training in business management to enhance their ability to develop and expand on advertising campaigns.
