The goal of the MS in education with a major in curriculum and instruction is to prepare the student to effectively evaluate, analyze and teach the curriculum in the manner that is most effective for the overall learning goals and objectives of the students. Students in the program will also learn effective instruction techniques including advanced methodologies and training techniques for working with both students and other professionals. Emphasis will be placed on research based instructional methods with a focus on data management and technology and its changing impact on teaching methods in all levels of programming.

Courses of study in the program will include working with diverse groups of students and curriculum modifications and adaptations, curriculum mapping and instruction, advanced core education classes, best practice instructional strategies and effective monitoring of student learning. Some teachers in the program will also complete advanced courses in assessment and curriculum evaluation.
