A degree in public administration prepares the graduate for a career in management within a public sector or government agency or regulatory organization. The Master of Business Administration in public administration furthers that knowledge and skill set to allow graduates to learn the advanced theory and practices in successfully managing and administrating within the public sector. Graduates may find work as city managers, planners, policy development professionals, public regulators or monitors or work in court houses, city hall offices or city, county or municipal offices or departments as managers and supervisors.
Courses within the program will include topics such as public administration structure and organization, sustainable public relations, human capital development, financial management in the public sector as well as ethic and legal issues in public administration. Students will also learn effective communication skills, working with diverse groups of people, as well as conflict management and group facilitation.
