With a Bachelor of Science in information technology with a major or focus on software graduates will be able to find careers as software programmers, software testers and web applications technicians. Students can also use their knowledge of software in sales and marketing issues with regards to technology companies or in e-commerce and web administration. Graduates can also work in entry level positions in information technology departments and combine their knowledge of various types of computer technology with their enhanced knowledge of software.
Courses within the information technology program include networking, security, software development and engineering, evaluation and assessment of technology and software as well as troubleshooting and problem solving with regards to software and information technology systems. Students may complete one or more of nine specialized technical certificates during the course of study including one on Sun Java programming.
