The Bachelor of Science in information technology is an ideal course of study for those that wish to either take a general program of study or to specialize in one of eight possible areas of focus. The eight areas also offer the option of technical certification to give graduates additional training in areas of interest including programming and systems management for various operating systems. Students that complete the Bachelor of Science in information technology program can work as entry level managers in IT departments, as networking specialists, database managers and administrators as well as web administrators, e-business consultants or information systems designers and troubleshooters.
The classes within the course of study will be both practical and theoretical in nature. Courses will be designed to allow students to learn strategic methods for working with various types of information technology including database management, networking and networking security issues, software, basic computer languages and programming, hardware issues and troubleshooting as well as system analysis and evalutation.
