The Bachelor of Science in elementary education in English is a specialized program that will train professionals to teach English to students from kindergarten through to the sixth grade. The focus of the program will be on methodologies, various in-class applications and games as well as alternate learning strategies for students with special learning needs and requirements. Graduates will also use the latest in computer software and programs in English teaching for students at various grade levels.
Courses are designed to focus on the theory behind effective teaching and then allow students to apply this knowledge to class projects and assignments. Effective communication, child learning and development, teaching English to non-English speakers as well as interacting with parents and school administrators will also be included in the program of study.
