With the growing importance of online transactions and e-business and e-commerce the need for professionals that can ensure the security of online sales and business continues to expand and grow. A Bachelor of Science in cyber security provides students with the theory and practical ability to analyze, evaluate, monitor and troubleshoot the various aspects of cyber security and network risk assessment within local area networks or on the internet.
There are two main aspects of the BS in cyber security program include information assurance and forensic investigations of cyber crime. Information assurance focuses on the prevention of security breaches and the maintenance and management of systems, whereas the forensic investigation of cyber crime includes investigation of breaches and cyber crimes or e-business crimes. Students will use the latest in technology with regards to cyber crime investigations and security, and will learn about monitoring software, network security and hardware and software that can be used in cyber crime prevention and security.
