The Bachelor of Science in Business with a focus on public administration is a course of study that is designed to allow graduates to understand how to use public services and how to effectively provide public services in a business setting. Graduates of the program may choose to work for cities or towns, federal, local or state governments, or within other public administration services. Public administration programs involve the study of effective management and administrative models as well as effective communication skills, developing interpersonal skills, and learning how to work in collaborative groups or committees within the public sector.
Students will complete courses on public policy development, historical and future trends in public policy and administration, human resources and employment law, leadership skill development, conflict resolution and the use of technology in public records. Classes on ethical issues and legal concerns in public administration will also be included.
