The Bachelor in Business Administration in accounting allows graduates to complete coursework required to move towards a CPA designation. The program focuses on the more advanced theories and practices in business accounting including taxation, record preparation, planning, communication and auditing procedures. Students are also encouraged to use the latest in technology designed to enhance computerized accounting practices.
Within the courses in the BBA in accounting program students will learn the ethical and legal issues in business accounting for both large and small companies as well as government agencies and nonprofit organizations. They will also cover advanced accounting practices and principles, financial report for businesses, risk analysis and assessment and federal and state taxation laws and requirements. Graduates of the program can be employed as accountants, bookkeepers, auditors, taxation professionals or even by insurance companies and loans departments.
