This degree program will teach students how the criminal justice system works and help students find careers within it. In addition to crime scene investigation and other investigative courses, students will also learn more about sociology, psychology, and human relations so they will be able to perform their job to the best of their ability. Students will learn more about police investigation, corrections, criminal justice administration, and forensic science so they can decide which area to go into after graduation.
Courses students will have to complete include forensic science, criminal justice ethics, victimology, criminal investigations, and criminal law. Earning a degree from this program will allow students to also develop problem solving and critical thinking skills that can be used when on the job. Learning how to communicate with others in the field, the public, and victims and their families is another skill students will learn as they progress through the program.
