Understanding how criminals operate and being able to protect people, merchandise, and information are skills that students will learn when completing this degree program. Students will learn how to interrogate suspects, observe those suspected of theft, and when to make arrests. This degree program will also teach students about the latest technology and how it is used to monitor behavior, analyze evidence, and create databases that can be utilized by others in the criminal justice field.
Courses students will need to complete include criminology, corrections, juvenile justice, crime scene investigation, and criminal law. Additional courses in loss prevention and homeland security will be offered. Students will have the opportunity to decide which area within the criminal justice system they would like to work in after graduation. Many students have gone on to have careers in loss prevention, fraud investigation, and cyber law.
