After earning a degree in computer science, students will be able to find employment as software engineers, data analysts, information systems managers, and software developers in many different industries. Those who have an interest in learning more about computers and how they work, the software needed to run them, and the networks that allow information to be sent back and forth should consider earning a degree in computer science. Students will learn not only how to develop and design computer programs, but also how to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain those programs once they have been installed.
Students will need to complete the following courses in order to earn their degree: computer engineering, network systems, information systems and security, project management, and finance. Those who have a degree in computer science will have the opportunity to lead projects, design and develop new software and programs, and be able to improve internet security for companies and other organizations.
