For those who want to work in manufacturing or operations as foremen, industrial analysts, or in management, earning a degree in industrial technology will give students the background needed to make run the operations end of a company successfully. Students will further their training by learning how to improve production, manage others, and analyze data to see what is working and what is not.
Students will have to complete the following courses in order to earn their degree: math, industrial management, labor management, psychology, time management, and machine safety and law. There are many industries in need of those who can lead teams, manage departments, and analyze production rates to see where improvements can be made. Those with strong leadership skills are needed to implement new programs in place of existing ones that are more efficient and safe for those who work on the production floor.
