The mission of Chamberlain College of Nursing is to provide quality and state-of-the-art nursing and healthcare education programs to its students. The college hopes to achieve this through offering programs with a strong historical foundation, broad general education background and clinical practice that helps students learn compassion and proficiency. The college is also committed to helping students grow personally, gain career mobility, and become leaders in the healthcare community.

The Chamberlain College of Nursing was first established in 1889 as a diploma school of nursing. It has since evolved into a College of Nursing which offers ASN and BSN degrees. The school was originally called the Deaconess College of Nursing, but since having been acquired by DeVry in 2006, the name has been changed.

Since its inception, Chamberlain has been a school dedicated to educating young men and women about nursing and healthcare-related careers. Students enrolling with the university will have the opportunity to earn a BSN in Nursing or an Associate's degree in Nursing. The school tries to incorporate several main values into their educational programs including the beliefs that every person is unique and has intrinsic value, that health is a dynamic and holistic process, and that nursing is a practice profession that should be dedicated to providing quality healthcare to all persons.

Students enrolling in online programs will have the same access to ASN and BSN degrees as those who opt for in-class alternatives. Students will be able to access an online library and bookstore as well as attend classes and take part in discussions right from their home computers. The programs offer general education classes like Anatomy, Chemistry and Pharmacology as well as specialized nursing classes like Nursing of Children and Critical Care Nursing.
