Bowling Green State University

Bowling Green State University aims to be one of the best learning communities in the state of Ohio and in the nation through aiding intellectual discovery, rational discourse and civility in all aspects of teaching, learning and scholarship. The school hopes to embody several core values including respect, cooperation, intellectual and spiritual growth, creativity and pride in a job well done.

The university, located in Bowling Green, Ohio, was founded in 1910 as part of the Lowery Act, and it began its life as a teacher training school. Today the school is composed of the main campus in addition to a smaller campus located about 60 miles east called BGSU Firelands College.Since its inception, Bowling Green State University has been a training ground for teachers, and the school is still known today as a great place to go for training in working in the classroom. In fact, the university is the 14th largest producer of teachers in the country. The university also offers over 200 other majors in the classroom and 12 online degrees and certifications, including the nation’s first Ph.D. program in Photochemical Science and one of the first to offer undergraduate programs in Neuroscience.

Students enrolling with Bowling Green State University’s distance learning program will be able to take classes in their spare time, gain personal interaction with their professors, collaborate with classmates and gain the same high standard of education offered to those attending on campus courses. Degree programs range from undergraduate to graduate and doctoral programs and some professional certifications are offered as well. Students can enroll to earn degrees in everything from a B.S. in nursing to a Ph.D. in Technology Management.
