Bellevue University

Bellevue University’s mission is to provide students with comprehensive education in the fields of business, information technology and the liberal arts. With this education they hope to enable students to meet the demands of competitive business fields, and to learn skills that will enable them to translate their classroom success into the real world. Additionally, the university hopes to inspire its students to become leaders in their communities and responsible citizens with the skills and expertise necessary to advance themselves and their prospective associations.

Bellevue University was founded by Bill Brooks and the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce in 1965 in Bellevue, Nebraska. Since its founding, the university has grown to include campuses in five Midwestern states (Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Missouri and Kansas) with thirteen locations altogether and an active online education community. These schools are home to over 11,000 students getting undergraduate and graduate degrees.

One of the first to offer accredited online degree programs, Bellevue University has a long history of online and distance learning programs stretching back to 1996. The school was also one of the first to offer the Master of Business Administration degree through an online program, allowing prospective businesspeople to learn around their busy schedules. Students today can gain professional degrees in 50 undergraduate programs and 13 graduate level programs ranging from Criminal Justice to Information Systems.

Students enrolling with the online programs through Bellevue will gain access to its trademarked Cyver-Active Learning program. The University works to ensure that students in its online community receive the same resources and rewarding experiences that those in the classroom do. To do this, faculty are specially trained in a rigorous 6-week course to help them to be more effective in teaching and communicating with students online, and the online experience of present and past students is closely monitored to ensure that it remains to the highest standards.
